Owning, Displaying, and Preserving Fine Art Photographs
I am excited that you are considering my fine art photographs for your collection. Whether you are choosing work for your home or workspace or to enhance a hospitality or corporate presence, I want to share some information about how to enjoy and preserve these unique artworks.
Owning a beautifully printed work that documents a moment in time is quite a different experience from storing or viewing images on a phone or computer. Great Photographic Art belongs on archival paper, and thus, understanding the nuances of fine art photography is an art form in and of itself. It's this understanding that is crucial to ensuring the longevity and vibrancy of these pieces. To help you in this journey, I have created an FAQ (frequently asked questions) that is filled with essential tips from the world of professional curators, collectors, and museums. This resource will guide you in making informed decisions about your fine art photography acquisitions, enhancing your appreciation of this art form.
Whether you're outfitting a personal space or curating an exhibition, always remember that the primary consideration should be your personal connection and resonance with the artwork. This connection is what makes art truly come alive and makes you an integral part of its story.

I provide a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for all my work to ensure its authenticity. Each COA includes information detailing the creation of each print, which is essential when reselling an artwork.
All my prints are signed in the lower right-hand corner of the photo. Limited-edition prints will also include the edition
I custom-size prints to the optimum aesthetic value of the artwork. I quote the overall size of the print, which is the size of the actual image, plus a white border of one to two inches on each side for easy handling and framing.
We ship via designated carriers. Large prints are rolled and placed in a heavy-duty tube with a protective archival sleeve, and small prints are shipped in a protective flat box with an archival sleeve. All images arrive with a COA and a personal thank you letter.
Once your package ships, you will receive a notification email with tracking information. This will generally happen within 2-5 working days of receiving your order.
Fine art photographs are often made in limited numbers, known as Limited Editions. Knowing the size of the edition can help you understand the rarity and potential value of a photograph. A single print may come in several sizes, and each size is an edition.
Fine art prints are also available as open editions, and the acquisition value of these images is usually less than limited editions. Open Editions are an effective way to own great art for your home and office décor needs.
Substrates, which are the proper name for the paper upon which the images are printed, are an important consideration. In all cases, they should be certified as archival, which means they will provide superior visual depth and longevity but also ensure that your investment retains its new printed condition over time. I choose certified archival substrates that provide a tactile quality and tone of faithfulness for the image I’m printing.
I’m pleased to offer fine art prints in metal, acrylic, and canvas wraps. To order, contact me using our contact form or reach out to my email at marcia@levetownfineart.com or you may reach me here with an estimated size and other details. I’ll respond promptly with a quote and other information.
I do not provide frames. We have found that our art buyers and collectors prefer to select frames for personal display and aesthetic reasons. Frames purchased locally are often of better quality and more reasonable to acquire.
Handle your prints by the border edges. It is best to use cotton gloves to avoid depositing oils from your skin, which may mar the beauty of the artwork. Frame your work to your taste and do not display it in direct sunlight, but if you do, use UV-protective glass. Display your art, enjoy, and share the experience.
Always purchase fine art photography for personal enjoyment and aesthetic appreciation. Limited-edition works may increase in value, but such investment is not ever guaranteed.
