Most of these images were taken from the road, as I passed by Sossusvlei. The enormity of the dunes becomes much more evident as you stand at their base- many climb to be over 350 feet high. The dunes are strikingly brick red in color and shadows are purple, with blazing blue skies, a breathtaking scene. At sunrise and sunset, the edges of the dunes are lined with gold. Lines and shapes dominate and sometimes pieces of the dunes call out to be memorialized.
