Houston Skyline Multiplied
From my apartment balcony, I gaze at the everchanging skyline. The position of the sun, the clouds, and the gleaming light change by the minute, the hour, the day and the season. Reflected sunset from the West lights up the buildings in the East, as the day comes to an end.
One evening, as I was challenging myself working with multiple exposures (ME) and intentional camera movement (ICM), I captured copper hues and sparkling windows in one building, the desert-colored reflections in another and the mirror-like reflections in a few others. Repeating patterns and implied motion create partially abstract images that make these images universal and, I hope, welcoming.
In the early evening, these same techniques were used to create images that are more ethereal, inspiring contemplation of the future, the hereafter, or the interplay of nature and man.
I invite you to linger on these images, to find what gives you peace, and to allow your mind to wander.
